Steven Tyler Bio

Steven Tyler (MEYERS ’15) has been an integral member of the Nursing Administration Alumni Advisory Council for over two years, and an innovative, critical thinker. Over the last 18 months of the pandemic, Steven has been working the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic as a nurse.

Last fall the Nursing Administration program director shared with the Council that admissions to the program had been steadily declining. Steven took it upon himself to lead the charge to increaseenrollment. He designed an event to showcase current students and the success of alumni of the program. He worked tirelessly to spread the word to people at his hospital and motivated the members of the council to encourage their colleagues to attend. He contacted Chief Nursing Officers and Directors of Nursing at Manhattan hospitals and recruited them to market the event with their employees.

From drafting the marketing materials to developing interactive polls for the guests, he was fully committed to the program’s success, which directly led to an increase in applicants. Now, Steven has already turned his attention to planning the next event, the Chief Nursing Officer Panel Discussion, which in 2020 won the NYU Event of the Year.
