Life After NYU Committee: Krista Anne Burton (GLS ’20), Peyton Deal (CAS ’20), Anna Gorshkova (GSAS ’21), Guy Thomas (CAS ’20), Niki Singh (CAS ’20), Tina Zhou (STEINHARDT ’20)
The Life After NYU Committee supports the student to alumni transition by helping create, plan, and execute events, programs, and initiatives for current graduating students and recent graduates. Consisting of members from the most recent graduating class, this brand-new committee works to educate new graduates about transitioning from to student to alumni, and how they can remain connected and engaged to the NYU Community. Life After NYU held one event per semester as well as an entire week of events in the Spring called Life After NYU Week which included: Alumni 101 (2 sessions), Making Work "Work", Alumni Club Fest, as well as a Passing the Torch collaboration with CAB21.
Some of the programming included: Transition through the Pandemic, Stepping into Work-Life Balance, Dealing with Imposter Syndrome, Anxiety of the "Next Steps of Life", Financial Literacy, Adjusting to Entry-level Positions, Grad School, Relocating, Moving Back Home, Investing, Adult Roommates, Generational Gaps in the Workplace, and Inclusivity at Work.
This inaugural committee consisting of new graduates from the Classes of 2020 and 2021 were especially devoted in making sure their fellow classmates were informed and connected to the University. Given the lives of recent graduates have been disrupted by the pandemic, this group of dedicated new alumni volunteers was extraordinary
