NYU Alumni Day 2009

The New York University Alumni Day 2009 was a great success celebrating the best of NYU and NYC!  Over 2,500 alumni, friends, students, and faculty convened at Washington Square on Saturday, October 3, 2009, making this year's Alumni Day the largest ever.

Highlights from the day included:

- The Fight for Education: Defending the American Dream featured NYC Schools Chancellor Joel Klein, NYU President John Sexton, and Steinhardt Dean Mary Brabeck. An engaging discussion of how our education system measures up across the globe and what steps can be taken to prepare our students and teachers to excel.

- Beyond Facebook- Blogging, Tagging, Tweeting, and More.  Expert librarians from the Bobst Library helped alumni get up-to-date on the latest networking tools.

- Icons of the Desert: Early Aboriginal Painting from Papunya.  A one-of-a-kind exhibition at NYU's renowned Grey Art Gallery.

- The Art of Networking featured executive career coaches and networking experts that helped to hone our alumni's networking skills and shared techniques on more effective ways of connecting with peers and fellow professionals.

- Ultra-Violet Happy Hour and a Half- A special reception that celebrated our reunion classes and helped our alumni relax and make connections after a great day.
