President, NYU Alumni Association
As president of the New York University Alumni Association, I am pleased to welcome you to the official Alumni Web site for all university alumni. This site is your gateway to news about your alma mater, as well as information about your wide variety of alumni benefits, services, and events.
As one of the more than 350,000 graduates of New York University, you are automatically considered a member of the NYU Alumni Association. As such, you have access to a wide range of benefits and services offered by the University and the Alumni Association. These exclusive benefits include free publications such as NYU Magazine and NYU Alumni News, and a subscription to our electronic newsletter, NYU Connect. Each of these publications is designed to keep alumni up-to-date and in-the-know about campus news and alumni activities. Alumni also have access to the new Jeffrey S. Gould Welcome Center on Washington Square and the Wasserman Center for Career Development on the second floor of the Palladium Residence Hall in Union Square.
Those members of the Alumni Association who support the Fund for NYU on an annual basis are rewarded with an NYU Alumni Card. With your Alumni Card, you can enjoy special discounts on New York City car rentals, at events around the city, and at the NYU Bookstore and Computer Store. Your Alumni Card also provides access to Bobst library and the Jerome S. Coles and Palladium athletic facilities.
The University wouldn't be what it is today without the support of its talented and diverse alumni population. As president of the Alumni Association, and proud member of one of the largest alumni bodies in the nation, I hope that you will get involved in shaping NYU's future by contributing to and getting involved with the University. There are many ways alumni can take part. Become a mentor to current students. Attend alumni events. Participate in an alumni trip abroad. And network with other graduates.
Together we can influence the lives of today's students and chart the course for the University's bright future
.Cordially,
Jonathan M. Herman (ARTS '69, LAW '73)
The NYU Alumni Association (NYUAA) is the umbrella organization for all University alumni. Its purpose is to build and sustain a lifelong relationship between the University and its alumni.
The NYUAA's various committees allow alumni to focus their energy in areas that are helpful to the University. Through these committees alumni actively lobby Albany legislators on issues crucial to higher education. They work to link students and alumni through events like Freshman Orientation, the annual Student Leaders Dinner and the Alumni in the Industry Colloquium. Alumni also help to raise crucial fundraising dollars through the Fund for NYU. Recent Alumni who remain in the New York area have opportunities to participate in social, cultural, career-related and community service activities through the Recent Alumni Network. For those alumni residing outside the metro area, NYU holds a series of regional events bringing the president or faculty members to meet with alumni in other areas of the country.
